Working with RNnetwork

Types of Travel Nurse Jobs

Travel nursing jobsRegistered nurses make up 91 percent of the providers RNnetwork places in travel nursing assignments each year — but you don’t have to hold the traditional four-year bachelor’s degree to work with us! Below are the types of travel nurse jobs we offer.

Registered nurses. RNnetwork places registered nurses with a variety of educational backgrounds and degrees, including:

  • An associate’s degree in nursing (ADN)
  • A diploma in nursing from a hospital-based nursing school
  • A bachelor’s degree in nursing (generally a four-year program)
  • A master’s degree in nursing (generally a six-year program)

Each nurse RNnetwork places must have passed the NCLEX-RN exam and have at least one year of clinical nursing experience.

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs). An LPN, who provides basic bedside care to patients who are sick or injured, generally has 18 months to two years of education. He or she must also pass the NCLEX-PN exam to work in all 50 states and take assignments with RNnetwork.

Surgical technologists and sterile processors. In addition to nurses, RNnetwork also places surgical technologists, certified surgical technologists (CSTs) and sterile processors in assignments around the country. While these health professionals only make up 4 percent of RNnetwork’s placements each year, they play an important role in assisting surgeons and ensuring that operating room equipment remains sterile and safe. Surgical technologists and sterile processors complete 12 to 18 months of education or are trained on the job; many are also military trained.

Note: Basic life support (BLS) certification is required for all assignments. The four-hour class teaches participants to perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), recognize life-threatening emergencies and help someone who is choking. Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is required for more acute assignments. The two-day course covers immediate post-cardiac arrest care, airway management and related pharmacology.

Whether you’re an RN, LPN or CST, RNnetwork has a position for you. Check out our open jobs now.
