Registered nurse Paulina Solis was a little nervous about her assignment in South Carolina, but her RNetwork recruiter assured her she’d be a great fit for the job.
She was more than a great fit. In fact, she saved the day!
In her first week at the facility, Paulina saved a baby’s life. Doctors noticed the umbilical cord wrapped around the baby’s neck, and when they tried to fix the problem, the cord snapped. They delivered the baby, but there was a lot of blood. Paulina reached in and clamped the baby’s side of the cord with her hand.
After the procedure, Paulina’s labor and delivery manager had this to say about her:
“Her fast thinking and calm intervention during this OB emergency prevented serious hemorrhage and harm to this baby. Paulina is brand new here and we are already experiencing what a strong nurse she is. She’s a great asset to us, and we are so thrilled that she is here on our team.”
Paulina has since been nominated for a RN Safety Star Award at the facility.
We’re proud to be associated with such great nurses that make a difference in their patient’s lives.
Great job, Paulina!
