7 reasons to go to TravCon 2019

Travel nurses at TravCon

TravCon is coming! TravCon is one of the best ways to meet other travel nurses, get the latest medical training, make industry connections, and most importantly, have a lot of fun! This year’s convention will be held September 8-11 in Las Vegas. Here are seven reasons you won’t want to miss TravCon 2019.

1. See old friends and make new ones

A great thing about travel nursing is you get to meet other travel nurses along the way. At TravCon, you’re bound to run into old friends from previous jobs. You’re also sure to make new friends, considering the fact that everyone at the convention has the same interests — traveling and taking care of patients. Worried about not knowing anyone? Don’t be! If you’re new to travel nursing, there’s a specific track just for you. It includes a seven-hour boot camp specifically for new travel nurses where you’ll learn the ins and outs of your new career. At the end of the camp, you’ll have lots of new nurse friends.

2. Hear inspiring and funny speakers

We’re extra excited for Nurse Blake, whose Twitter and Instagram have nursing jokes that are all too relatable. He’ll bring that same humor to get the convention started. At the end of the convention, Allison Massari will tell her inspiring story about two major injuries she endured after not one, but two horrible car accidents. She’ll be there to remind nurses of how important their work is. In addition to these keynote speakers, there will be sessions on nursing wellness, how to stay fit while traveling, how to take great photos (after all, Instagram bragging is one of the best parts of traveling!), best practices for taxes and saving as a travel nurse, and much more.

3. Get free stuff

Let’s be honest here, one of the best parts of conventions is all the swag that exhibitors give out. There will be the usual range of small freebies like lip balm and pens, which you can never have enough of. On the other hand, lots of exhibitors have amazing raffles with giveaways of the newest tech, vacations, and designer clothes. RNnetwork is going to have an incredible giveaway this year, but you’ll have to visit our booth (#118) to find out what it will be!

4. Relax with massages

Nursing is stressful and all that tension can add up. That’s why RNnetwork will have massage therapists providing free massages at our booth (#118). Get ready to breathe in and say “ahhhh” at the conference.

5. Party with the industry

During TravCon 2019, you’ll learn and connect with other nurses during the day, but at night, you’ll get to celebrate with all your new friends. RNnetwork is sponsoring the TravCon AfterParty on September 10. We’ll be celebrating in Vegas style on the rooftop of the Drais nightclub, so bring your best Vegas outfit!

6. Enjoy brunch on us

RNnetwork staff at TravConSometimes after a night in Vegas, you need a hearty brunch to recover. So RNnetwork is also sponsoring the post-conference brunch on the morning of September 11. We’ll have nearly any brunch fixing you could ask for. In addition, the brunch will have a great view of Vegas — from the Skyview Ballrooms at the top of Bally’s Tower.

7. Get CEUs

TravCon will be great for socializing, but it will be even better for checking off your CEUs. The conference has CEUs available for nursing, as well as for other specialties such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology techs, and more. In order to get these credits, make sure you scan your badge at each session and attend the sessions in full. You can also renew your certifications, including Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation.
