Travel nursing assignments allow you to explore a new part of the country — and with the housing RNnetwork provides, you can travel quite lightly.
While you can talk with your recruiter about specific needs, the following items are included in the furnished apartments you’ll live in:
- Queen- or full-sized bed with headboard
- Dresser with mirror
- Nightstand and lamp
- Sofa and chair
- Coffee table, end table and TV stand
- Table with four chairs
- Washer and dryer (noted if unavailable)
Luckily, there’s no need to pack an air mattress or folding chairs for seating, but you will need to bring the following (or buy it when you arrive):
- Sheets, pillows and blankets
- Shower curtain
- Bath mat and towels
- Wastebaskets
- Light bulbs
- Cleaning supplies
- Paper towels and toilet paper
- Pots and pans for cooking
- Utensils and dishes
- Iron and ironing board
- Vacuum cleaner
- Microwave
Note: Apartments are not furnished with a TV, DVD player or computer. If you don’t want to put a TV in your car, consider bringing or purchasing a laptop you can stream TV episodes and movies on through a service like Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu.
With this list of suggestions, you’re ready to start packing! For more tips, check out this post with things to take in your car as a new travel nurse.
