Then a single mother to two teens, Mary Stewart was looking for job that offered a good income but allowed her to do something more.

“I was an executive secretary for three cardiologists. I was an account manager for a home health agency. I was always kind of in the medical field, but I didn’t feel I was making the difference I wanted to,” Mary recalls. “Nursing seemed to be good fit.”

Mary started nursing school at age 42. When she learned about travel nursing jobs early into her education, she knew she’d found the right career.
